The second quarter of 2021 showcased intriguing trends for the top music and audio apps on the Android platform in Germany. Here’s a detailed look at the performance of the top 5 apps based on weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.
Throughout Q2 2021, Spotify maintained a steady download rate, beginning the quarter with approximately 30.4K weekly downloads and ending with around 25.5K. The app saw its highest downloads in the first week of April, peaking at 30.4K. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 6.7M and 6.8M.
Amazon Music experienced a noticeable dip in downloads over the quarter. Starting with 24.1K downloads at the end of March, the app saw a decline to 15.8K by the end of June. Active users showed a slight decline overall, peaking at 731K in early April and dropping to around 710K by the end of the quarter.
Free Music Downloader saw varied download numbers, with a significant peak at 31.8K in the last week of May. Active users showed an upward trend, starting from 54.4K at the end of March and reaching close to 98.3K by the end of June.
Shazam's download numbers remained consistent, fluctuating between 16.6K and 22.2K. Active users saw a slight decline from 773K at the end of March to 730K by the end of June, with a peak usage of 747K in the second week of May.
Music Player - MP3 Player witnessed a steady stream of downloads, ranging from 12.3K to 17.8K throughout the quarter. Revenue figures were relatively stable, hovering around $300 to $470 per week. Active users increased from 264K at the start of the quarter to approximately 294K by the end of June.
