In the second quarter of 2021, the top 5 dating apps on iOS in the United States demonstrated significant activity in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at how each app performed.
Tinder Dating App: Chat & Date showed strong revenue growth, starting the quarter at around $4.1M and peaking at approximately $5.2M in the week of May 10. Weekly downloads ranged from 139K to 193K, with the highest number of downloads occurring in the week of June 21. Active users fluctuated slightly, beginning at 5.2M and ending the quarter at around 5.4M.
Bumble Dating App: Meet & Date maintained consistent weekly revenue, ranging from $2.2M to $2.6M, with a peak in the week of April 19. Downloads varied between 79K and 95K, with a notable increase in the last week of June. Active users saw a steady increase from 2.1M at the start of the quarter to 2.2M by the end.
Hinge Dating App: Match & Meet experienced a steady climb in revenue, starting at $1M and reaching approximately $1.3M in mid-June. Download numbers showed a positive trend, beginning at 55K and peaking at 69K in the week of May 31. Active users fluctuated around 1.8M, ending the quarter slightly higher than it started.
Yubo: Make friends, live chat had variable revenue, with a low of $435K and a high of $669K in the final week of June. Downloads saw a peak of 90K in late April but generally stayed below 80K for most of the quarter. Active users started at 1.2M, dropped to around 826K by the end of June.
Plenty of Fish Dating App had steady weekly revenue, fluctuating between $876K and $1.2M. Downloads remained relatively stable, ranging from 54K to 64K throughout the quarter. Active users saw slight variations, starting at 614K and ending around 596K by the end of June.
