In the second quarter of 2021, the top shopping apps in Egypt showed varied trends in downloads and active user engagement. According to Sensor Tower data, these apps exhibited distinct patterns that highlighted their popularity and user engagement.
Souq.com سوق.كوم from AMZN Mobile LLC observed a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 69.5K at the beginning of April and peaking at around 121.6K by late June. The platform maintained a robust weekly active user base, fluctuating around 1.6M to 1.8M throughout the quarter.
Jumia Online Shopping experienced a gradual rise in downloads, starting from 63.6K and reaching a high of 130.2K in early June before tapering off towards the end of the quarter. The active user count saw a consistent upward trend, beginning at approximately 944K and reaching over 1.6M by mid-June, before slightly declining.
Alibaba.com showed a fluctuating pattern in downloads, with a notable spike in early June, reaching about 91.5K. The weekly active users varied between 718K and 964K, showing some volatility but maintaining strong engagement overall.
noon Shopping, Food, Grocery had its highest downloads at the beginning of the quarter with 88.2K, which then gradually decreased to around 42.5K by the end of June. Despite the drop in downloads, the active user base remained relatively stable, averaging around 600K throughout the quarter.
Wish: Shop and Save experienced a decline in both downloads and active users over the quarter. Downloads started at approximately 60.9K, dropping to about 26.5K by the end of June. Active users also saw a downward trend from 209K to 178K.
