During the third quarter of 2021, the cryptocurrency app landscape in El Salvador saw significant activity on the Android platform. Here's a detailed look at the performance of the top 5 cryptocurrency apps based on data from Sensor Tower.
Chivo Wallet, released on September 6, 2021, by Gobierno de El Salvador, experienced remarkable growth in downloads and active users. Weekly downloads surged from approximately 41K in the first week to over 160K by the end of September. Active users also showed a strong upward trend, starting at around 27K and reaching nearly 145K by the end of the month.
Bitcoin Wallet - BTC Exchange, published by Freewallet - Crypto Service, saw varied download activity. Downloads peaked at approximately 34K in the first week of September before declining to around 1.3K by the end of the month. Active user numbers followed a similar pattern, starting at around 30K and decreasing to about 11K.
Blink (Bitcoin Wallet), developed by Galoy Inc, also showed significant download activity, particularly in early September. Downloads rose to approximately 22K in the first week but tapered off to around 1.1K by the end of the month.
Bitcoin Wallet, from Bitcoin Wallet developers, saw a notable spike in downloads in the first week of September, reaching around 13K, before settling at approximately 1.2K by the end of the month. Active users followed a similar trend, peaking at about 13K in early September and declining to around 4.5K.
Binance: Buy Bitcoin & Crypto, published by Binance Inc., maintained a steady increase in both downloads and active users throughout Q3. Downloads grew from around 1.3K at the beginning of the quarter to approximately 3.8K by the end of September. Active user numbers consistently increased, starting at around 15.6K and reaching about 26K by the end of the quarter.
