Top 5 Finance Apps on iOS in Kenya Q3 2021

The third quarter of 2021 showcased interesting trends for the top finance applications on the iOS platform in Kenya. Here’s a detailed look at the performance of the leading apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.

M-PESA from Safaricom Limited experienced fluctuating weekly downloads, starting with around 3.7K at the end of June and seeing a mid-quarter dip to 1.7K by late August. The app recovered slightly, ending the quarter with approximately 1.9K downloads. Active users showed a strong upward trend, increasing from 21.7K to a peak of 36.6K in mid-September, before closing the quarter at 34.5K.

PayPal - Pay, Send, Save, published by PayPal, Inc., had a modest download performance. Weekly downloads began at 453 in late June and peaked at 734 in early August, before stabilizing around the 500 mark towards the end of September. Active users saw a slight increase from 1.5K to 1.8K over the quarter.

Zenka Loan - Kenya from Zenka Finance Limited maintained a consistent download rate throughout the quarter. The app saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting at 381 and reaching a peak of 548 in mid-September.

Eazzy Banking by Finserve Africa had a relatively stable download rate. Weekly downloads fluctuated between 328 and 450, with a noticeable increase in the last week of September, reaching 422.

Equity Mobile from Equity Group Holding showed a steady increase in weekly downloads. Starting at 63 at the end of June, the app reached a peak of 525 by the end of September.
