In the third quarter of 2021, the top five sandbox-like games on iOS in Kenya exhibited varied performance across different metrics. Here’s a detailed look at how Roblox, Minecraft, IMVU: 3D Avatar Creator & Chat, ZEPETO: Avatar, Connect & Live, and Play Together performed.
Roblox from Roblox Corporation saw its weekly revenue fluctuate during Q3 2021, peaking at approximately $1.8K at the end of August. Weekly downloads reached their highest in mid-July with 429, while weekly active users experienced a slight decline from 6.7K in late June to 6.3K by the end of September.
Minecraft by Mojang maintained relatively stable weekly revenue, peaking at $128 in mid-July. Downloads showed a notable increase in late September, reaching 69. Active users remained fairly steady, ranging between 2.3K and 2.4K throughout the quarter.
IMVU: 3D Avatar Creator & Chat experienced a significant spike in weekly revenue at the end of July and early August, peaking at $31. Downloads also saw a notable increase to 85 in early August. Active users grew from 64 in late June to 188 by the end of September.
ZEPETO: Avatar, Connect & Live showed modest fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at $19 in mid-August. Downloads saw a noticeable rise towards the end of September, reaching 41. Active users grew from 82 in late June to 129 by the end of September.
Play Together from HAEGIN Co., Ltd. had a relatively low performance in terms of weekly downloads and revenue. Downloads were minimal, with a peak of 3 in mid-August, while revenue remained consistently low, peaking at $9 at the end of June.
