The third quarter of 2021 saw notable activity in the dating app segment in Algeria. The top 5 dating apps—Azar: Video Chat & Meet People, Ablo - Nice to meet you!, Kafu - Group Voice Chat Rooms, Tinder Dating App: Chat & Date, and Lamour-Video Chat—showed various trends in their performance metrics.
Azar: Video Chat & Meet People experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $1.4K in late August. Weekly downloads fluctuated, reaching a high of 42.9K mid-August, while weekly active users saw a slight rise from approximately 197.9K to 223.3K over the quarter.
Ablo - Nice to meet you! had a modest revenue increase, peaking at $81 in early September. Weekly downloads saw a significant drop from 27.5K in early August to 3.6K by the end of September. Active users also reflected this trend, declining from 176.9K in early August to around 113.3K by the end of the quarter.
Kafu - Group Voice Chat Rooms saw minimal revenue throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads and active users showed a downward trend, with downloads decreasing from 19.8K in late June to 5.4K by the end of September, and active users dropping from 34.4K to approximately 10.2K in the same period.
Tinder Dating App: Chat & Date maintained a relatively stable revenue stream, peaking at $630 in late August. Downloads peaked at 14.4K in early August before stabilizing around 4.3K towards the end of September. Active users hovered around 100K for most of the quarter, with minor fluctuations.
Lamour-Video Chat showed an increasing trend in weekly downloads, starting from 277 in late June and reaching 15.6K by mid-September. Revenue also saw a peak of $71 in late August. Active users increased from 6.8K in late June to around 25.1K by the end of September.
