Throughout the third quarter of 2021, the top health and fitness apps in New Zealand demonstrated varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s an overview of how the top 5 apps performed based on data from Sensor Tower.
NZ COVID Tracer saw a remarkable surge in weekly downloads, peaking at around 28K in late August. The app's weekly active users also showed an impressive increase from approximately 323K in early August to over 840K by the end of September.
Flo Period & Pregnancy Tracker experienced a consistent revenue stream, with weekly earnings fluctuating between $5.8K and $8.9K. Weekly downloads ranged from 2K to 2.8K, while active user numbers remained stable, hovering around 69K throughout the quarter.
Calm reported steady revenue growth, achieving a peak of approximately $11.7K in the last week of September. Weekly downloads varied, dropping to a low of 1.3K by the end of the quarter, and active user counts remained stable around 22K.
Nutrition Coach: Food tracker reported modest revenue growth, peaking at about $960 in mid-September. Downloads showed significant fluctuations, with a high of 6.1K in early August. Active user numbers also varied, peaking at around 7.4K in early August before stabilizing around 3.1K by the end of September.
MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter demonstrated consistent revenue, reaching approximately $10.9K in the last week of September. Weekly downloads were stable, ranging from 1.5K to 2.6K, while active users saw a slight increase, peaking at about 64.5K in mid-September.
