In the third quarter of 2021, the top 5 music and audio apps in Costa Rica displayed a range of performance trends. Here's a closer look at their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Spotify experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $427 in mid-August. Weekly downloads showed fluctuations, with a high of around 11K in early July and a low of about 8.1K by late September. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 820K throughout the quarter.
StarMaker saw a significant rise in weekly revenue, reaching as high as $617 in mid-August. However, weekly downloads decreased steadily from around 10.2K at the beginning of July to approximately 2.7K by the end of September. Weekly active users also declined, averaging around 25K throughout the quarter.
Free MP3 Sounds had a consistent increase in weekly downloads, peaking at 5.6K in early September. Weekly active users also saw growth, reaching a high of about 11K in mid-September. However, no revenue data was recorded for this app during the quarter.
Shazam's weekly revenue remained modest, peaking at $25 in late August. Weekly downloads fluctuated, with a high of around 4.8K in late June and a low of about 3.6K in mid-September. Weekly active users were relatively stable, averaging around 157K throughout the quarter.
Music Player - Audify Player experienced a slight increase in weekly revenue, peaking at $17 in early August. Weekly downloads showed an upward trend, reaching approximately 4.2K in mid-August. Weekly active users also grew steadily, averaging around 50K throughout the quarter.
