In the third quarter of 2021, the top 5 personal finance budgeting and planning apps in New Zealand displayed diverse performance trends in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared during this period.
Splitwise had a notable quarter with weekly downloads peaking at 715 in the week of September 20. The app's weekly revenue showed a significant increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching $44 in both the first week of July and the first week of September. Despite fluctuations, active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 2.9K to over 3K in mid-September.
Westpac NZ CashNav experienced a steady download rate throughout Q3 2021. Downloads peaked at 505 in the week of September 20. Despite having no revenue data, the consistent download numbers indicate a stable user interest.
Booster NZ maintained a consistent weekly download rate, peaking at 460 downloads in the week of September 20. No revenue or active user data was available for this app during the quarter.
Fudget: Budget and expense tra showed varied performance with weekly revenue peaking at $74 at the end of July and $69 at the end of September. Downloads saw a gradual increase, peaking at 248 in early September. Active users remained stable, averaging around 1.3K to 1.4K throughout the quarter.
Wallet: Budget Expense Tracker had the highest weekly revenue of $344 in late June, but this gradually decreased to $89 by the end of September. Downloads were highest at 309 in late June, but significantly dropped to 42 by the end of September. Active users showed a decline from 474 to 300 over the quarter.
