Throughout the fourth quarter of 2021, Germany's dating app market saw diverse trends across the top five platforms. Here’s a closer look at how these apps performed in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Tinder Dating App: Chat & Date maintained a strong presence with weekly revenue peaking at around $1M in early October and then fluctuating, ending the quarter at approximately $788K. Downloads showed a consistent pattern, starting at about 32K and ending at nearly 45K in the final week of December. Active users hovered around 2.4M, with a slight increase to over 2.48M by the end of the quarter.
LOVOO - Dating App & Chat App saw fairly stable revenue, averaging around $210K to $230K weekly. Downloads fluctuated slightly, starting at 25K and dropping to around 20K mid-quarter, then rising again to nearly 25K by the end of December. Active user numbers remained steady, with a noticeable peak to over 538K in late November before closing the quarter at approximately 505K.
Azar: Video Chat & Meet People experienced a steady increase in revenue, peaking at about $171K in the final week of December. Downloads also saw a rise, starting at 18K and finishing the quarter at 27K. The app's active user base grew from 145K to 172K over the same period.
Bumble Dating App: Meet & Date had stable revenue around $125K to $142K weekly, with a slight peak in mid-October. Downloads ranged from 19K to 26K, showing a noticeable increase towards the end of the quarter. Active users showed a gradual rise from 373K to over 414K by December’s end.
Badoo: Dating. Chat. Friends saw its weekly revenue fluctuate between $81K and $104K. Downloads were relatively stable, averaging around 20K weekly, with a slight dip to 19K in the final week of December. Active users varied, starting at 629K and experiencing some fluctuations before ending the quarter at approximately 626K.
