State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
In the fourth quarter of 2021, the top five food delivery services apps in the United States exhibited diverse performance trends across downloads and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.
DoorDash - Food Delivery consistently led in weekly downloads throughout the quarter, starting at around 427K in late September and peaking at approximately 567K in the final week of December. The app's weekly active users fluctuated but generally increased from 17.9M to about 19.3M by the end of the quarter.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery also maintained strong download numbers, beginning with around 275K and ending the quarter with a notable increase to roughly 389K. Its weekly active users showed a slight upward trend, moving from 15.9M to about 16.3M by the end of December.
DoorDash - Dasher experienced a steady increase in downloads, starting at around 216K and reaching approximately 244K by the final week of December. Active users for this app also saw a gradual rise, from 2.4M to about 2.5M over the same period.
Instacart: Groceries & Food showed significant growth in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads increased from around 149K at the beginning of the quarter to approximately 263K by the end. Active users also rose notably, from 1.7M to about 2.1M during the quarter.
Grubhub: Food Delivery had a consistent performance with weekly downloads starting at around 127K and peaking at approximately 188K by the end of December. Its weekly active users showed some fluctuation but ended the quarter with an increase from 2.9M to about 2.6M.
