In Q4 2021, the top health and fitness apps in Brazil demonstrated diverse trends in their weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Below, we provide a detailed overview of the performance of the top five apps: Strava: Run, Bike, Hike, Flo Period & Pregnancy Tracker, Meditopia: AI, Meditation, Calm, and Home Fitness Coach: FitCoach. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, reveals significant insights into user engagement and app monetization.
Strava exhibited a steady decline in weekly revenue, starting from approximately $44.5K in late September and ending at about $29.7K by the end of December. Weekly downloads began strong with 47.3K in late September but decreased to around 33.5K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed fluctuations, peaking at 858.2K in early November and dropping to 751K in early December, before recovering to 821.8K in the final week.
Flo Period & Pregnancy Tracker saw a significant jump in weekly revenue, peaking at nearly $30K in mid-November, before stabilizing around $18.2K by the end of December. Downloads showed a fluctuating pattern, starting at 123.1K in late September, dipping to 58K in early November, and then rising to 102.8K in the final week. Active users remained relatively stable, with minor fluctuations around the 2M mark throughout the quarter.
Meditopia's weekly revenue remained relatively consistent, averaging around $16K to $20K, with minimal fluctuations. Downloads showed a varied trend, starting at 22.1K in late September, peaking at 27.7K in early October, and ending around 21.6K in the last week of December. Active users demonstrated a downward trend, decreasing from 325.7K in late September to 243.4K by the end of the quarter.
Calm maintained a steady weekly revenue, ranging from approximately $9.5K to $12.3K throughout the quarter. Downloads exhibited a notable peak at 31.7K in mid-October, followed by a decline to about 17.4K by the end of December. Active users showed minor fluctuations, hovering around 145K for most of the quarter, with a slight peak at 155.9K in mid-October.
Home Fitness Coach: FitCoach saw an increase in weekly revenue, peaking at about $14.5K in early October, then stabilizing around $8.7K by the end of December. Downloads experienced significant highs, reaching 90.4K in early November, before dropping to 62K in the final week. Active users displayed a fluctuating trend, with a notable peak at 165.1K in early November and ending at 137.8K by late December.
