In Q4 2021, the maze game category on a unified platform (iOS and Android) in Nigeria showed varied performance across the top five applications. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, highlights trends in weekly downloads and active users for each app.
Unblock Ball - Block Puzzle from Fun Free Fun experienced a slight decline in weekly downloads, starting at roughly 1.6K in late September and dropping to around 1K by mid-December. However, there was a modest uptick to about 1.2K in the final week of December. Weekly active users saw a gradual decrease from approximately 4.9K to 4K over the same period.
Maze: Puzzle and Relaxing Game by Infinity Games, Lda had a notable decline in weekly downloads, starting with around 274 in late September and dipping to as low as 23 by the end of November. There was a slight recovery in December, ending the quarter with 121 downloads. Active users followed a similar trend, decreasing from 489 in late September to 225 by the end of December.
Roll the Ball® - slide puzzle from BitMango saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, growing from 65 in late September to 165 by the end of December. Active users also rose steadily from 644 to 729 over the same period, indicating a positive engagement trend.
Aquavias – Water Flow Puzzle by Dreamy Dingo showed a fluctuating download pattern, starting at 66 in late September, experiencing dips and peaks, and finishing the quarter at 131. Active users increased from 126 to 204 by the end of December, reflecting a growth in user engagement.
Mazes & More by Maple Media had a slow start with weekly downloads at 47 in late September, but saw a gradual increase to 111 by the end of December. Active users followed a similar upward trend, starting at 134 and rising to 214 by the end of the quarter.
