Throughout Q1 2022, WhatsApp Messenger showed a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from around 205K in late December and peaking at approximately 263K by the end of March. Active users also saw a gradual rise from 40M to over 41M during the same period.
Snapchat experienced fluctuating weekly downloads, beginning at 213K and finishing the quarter at around 226K. The app's active users hovered around 32M throughout the quarter, with minor ups and downs. Revenue for Snapchat varied, with a notable peak of about $3.6K in late February.
Messenger recorded a consistent download trend, starting at 158K and ending at approximately 205K. Active users remained relatively stable, around 78M to 79M. Revenue saw a noticeable increase in late February, reaching around $50K, before stabilizing at around $47K towards the end of March.
Telegram saw its weekly downloads increase from about 129K to a peak of 180K in early March, before slightly declining to 152K by the end of the quarter. Active users rose from 2.7M to nearly 3M, indicating a steady growth in user engagement.
Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out had a consistent weekly download rate, fluctuating around 140K. Active users increased from 12.6M to 13.9M over the quarter. Revenue showed a peak of approximately $401K in late December and then stabilized around $320K by the end of March.
