In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 entertainment apps on the Android platform in Mexico showed varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a breakdown of their performance based on Sensor Tower data.
baz: súper app de entretenimiento y finanzas saw significant fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting with 309K in late December and peaking at 579K by mid-March. Active users also followed an upward trajectory, increasing from 571K to a peak of 942K in mid-March.
HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies experienced steady weekly revenue, averaging around $37K to $47K. Weekly downloads showed some variability, peaking at 220K in early March before dropping to 119K by the end of the quarter. Active users started at 1.05M, with a gradual decline to 790K by the end of March.
Netflix maintained a consistent download rate, starting at 233K and tapering to 143K by the end of Q1. Active users saw a decline from 13.3M to 10.6M over the same period, reflecting a steady decrease throughout the quarter.
Disney+ generated stable weekly revenue, ranging from $50K to $60K. Weekly downloads peaked at 216K in mid-March, with active users showing a peak of 1.58M in the same period before settling at 1.43M by the end of the quarter.
Amazon Prime Video had modest weekly revenue, fluctuating between $4 to $19. Weekly downloads increased from 114K in late December to a peak of 202K in mid-March. Active users saw a decline from 1.25M at the start of the quarter to 1.04M by the end.
