The first quarter of 2022 saw notable performances from several travel and local apps on the Android platform in Africa. Here’s an overview of the top 5 apps based on their weekly metrics, as reported by Sensor Tower.
Find my Phone - Family Locator experienced a gradual decrease in weekly revenue, starting from $6.7K at the end of December 2021 and ending at around $3.5K by the end of March 2022. Weekly downloads showed a significant decline, dropping from 75K in late December to 11.9K by the end of the quarter. The app's active users also saw a downward trend, from 148K in late December to 67.9K by the end of March.
Flightradar24 Flight Tracker showed a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $925 in the week of February 21. Weekly downloads surged mid-quarter, reaching 11.2K in the same week, while active users increased from 21.4K at the start of January to 22.7K by the end of March.
Tracks4Africa Guide maintained a relatively stable revenue, with minor fluctuations throughout the quarter, peaking at $598 in late December. Weekly downloads were modest, starting at 102 and decreasing to 83 by the end of March.
Loki World app - Chat and meet saw a consistent weekly revenue stream, peaking at $233 in mid-March. Downloads remained stable, averaging around 1.6K per week. Active users showed a positive trend, increasing from 6.7K in late December to 8.4K by the end of March.
Planes Live - Flight Tracker displayed a varied performance. Weekly revenue peaked at $180 in early January, while downloads saw a high of 884 in early March. Active users fluctuated, starting at 25.6K in late December and ending at 23.3K by the end of March.
