In the first quarter of 2022, the performance of the top five food delivery apps on the iOS platform in Ghana displayed diverse trends in downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared according to Sensor Tower data.
Glovo: Food Delivery and more saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from 2.1K in late December 2021 and peaking at 3.4K in the last week of January. The app maintained a consistent download rate, hovering around 3.2K to 3.3K in March. Weekly active users also showed a positive trend, growing from 9.7K in late December to 12.6K by the end of March.
Bolt Food experienced stable weekly downloads, with numbers ranging from 2.7K to 3.3K throughout the quarter. The highest downloads were recorded in early March with 3.3K. Active users for Bolt Food consistently increased, starting at 15.1K in late December and reaching 19K by the end of March.
Jumia Food - Food delivery had comparatively lower download numbers, fluctuating between 729 and 1.04K throughout the quarter. Active users remained relatively stable, with slight variations from 9.2K in late December to 9.3K by the end of March.
Uber Eats: Food Delivery showed modest download figures, with weekly downloads ranging from 123 to 238. The app’s active users saw a gradual increase from 894 in late December to 1.2K by the end of March.
Dial A Delivery 2.0 had the lowest download and active user numbers among the top five. Weekly downloads varied between 70 and 200, with the highest downloads recorded in mid-January. Weekly active users data was not provided.
