During the first quarter of 2022, the carpooling and ridesharing app market in Mexico showed notable trends across the top five applications. Here’s a breakdown of their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
DiDi Rider: Affordable rides saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at 186K in late December 2021 and peaking at around 199K by mid-March 2022. Weekly active users also showed a positive trend, rising from approximately 4.6M to 5.5M over the quarter.
Uber - Request a ride experienced a similar upward trajectory in weekly downloads, growing from 143K to 170K. Meanwhile, weekly active users increased from 5.1M to approximately 5.7M, indicating a consistent user engagement throughout the quarter.
inDrive. Save on city rides showed a gradual increase in weekly downloads, beginning at 103K and stabilizing around the 86K mark towards the end of March. The active user base grew from 1.8M to nearly 1.9M, reflecting a steady user interest in the app.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had varied download numbers, starting at 39K in late December and reaching up to 49K by the end of the quarter. The weekly active users fluctuated but generally trended upwards, peaking at approximately 340K.
DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash noted a consistent increase in downloads, from 32K to nearly 50K over the quarter. The active user count also rose, starting at 272K and ending the quarter at around 306K.
