In Q1 2022, the top social networking apps in Central America showcased varied performance trends in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here are the highlights based on Sensor Tower data.
Facebook from Meta Platforms, Inc. experienced consistent weekly revenue, peaking at around $56K during the final week of December and maintaining a steady range between $42K and $51K throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads saw a notable increase, starting from approximately 605K in late December and reaching 806K by the end of March. Active users remained stable, fluctuating slightly around the 93M mark, with a peak of 95M in mid-March.
Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat from Grindr LLC showed a steady weekly revenue stream, averaging between $24K and $31K, with a peak of $31K in both late December and late February. Downloads fluctuated, starting at around 14K and ending the quarter at approximately 14K. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight decrease from 340K in late December to around 309K by the end of March.
Pandalive - Video Chat by Live Tech Global Limited saw an upward trend in weekly revenue, starting at $8.4K in late December and peaking at $14.4K in late March. Downloads varied, with a high of 12.6K in mid-February and a low of 4.9K in early March. Active users showed a modest increase, starting at 4K and peaking at 7.2K in mid-February.
Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out from Discord, Inc. maintained a consistent weekly revenue, with values ranging from $13K to $19K, peaking in late December. Downloads saw a peak of 138K in late January before stabilizing around 77K by the end of March. Active users increased from 2.1M in late December to a peak of 2.3M in late January, stabilizing around 2.1M by the end of the quarter.
BIGO LIVE-Live Stream, Go Live from BIGO TECHNOLOGY PTE. LTD. demonstrated a steady weekly revenue pattern, peaking at $17.6K in late January and maintaining a range between $11K and $17K throughout the quarter. Downloads varied, starting at 35K in late December and ending at 25K by the end of March. Active users showed slight fluctuations, peaking at 374K in early January and stabilizing around 350K by the end of the quarter.
