During the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 social networking apps in Kuwait showed varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active users on a unified platform.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a robust presence with weekly downloads starting at around 9.9K and peaking at approximately 17.2K in the week of February 21. Weekly active users for the app were consistently high, fluctuating between 2.8M and 3M throughout the quarter.
Facebook from Meta Platforms, Inc. saw steady weekly downloads, starting at around 10.4K and reaching up to 13.3K by the end of March. Revenue for Facebook showed a slight increase, peaking at around $4.1K in the final week of March. The app's weekly active users remained stable, hovering around 2.5M.
Telegram Messenger experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting from 8.4K and peaking at approximately 9.9K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users also showed a positive trend, increasing from 733K at the beginning of January to around 770K by the end of March.
Locket Widget had a notable rise in weekly downloads, starting with 757 in the first week of January and reaching around 10.6K by mid-March. Weekly active users for Locket Widget saw a significant increase, from 352 at the beginning of January to approximately 10.9K by mid-March.
Messenger also from Meta Platforms, Inc. showed consistent weekly downloads, starting at around 9.5K and peaking at approximately 13.5K in the week of March 21. Weekly active users for Messenger fluctuated slightly but remained around 940K to 966K throughout the quarter.
