During the second quarter of 2022, the hypercasual gaming market in Ghana saw interesting trends across the top five games on the Android platform. Data from Sensor Tower provides a detailed look into the weekly downloads, revenue, and active users for these games.
Water Color Sort by Vnstart LLC experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 18.6K at the end of March and dropping to around 2.7K by the end of June. The game’s weekly active users mirrored this trend, decreasing from 78.4K to 44.6K over the same period. Revenue peaked at $15 at the end of March and saw a gradual decline, settling at $2 by the end of June.
Checkers from English Checkers had a relatively stable performance. Weekly downloads ranged from around 6.4K to a peak of 10.8K in early June. Active users saw a steady rise from 31K to 36.8K by mid-June before dropping to 31.6K at the quarter's end. Revenue for Checkers was minimal, with only a couple of instances of $1 reported in mid-May.
Street Chaser by iGold Technologies showed a mixed trend. Downloads fluctuated, starting at 4.5K and peaking at 6.8K in mid-April, before stabilizing around 4.5K by the end of June. Active users saw a slight decline from 23.2K to 22.9K over the quarter. Revenue remained low, with a peak of $10 in late April and several instances of $7 and $3 throughout the quarter.
Kung Fu karate: Fighting Games by Frolics Simulation & Action Games had a stable download trend, starting at 3.3K and peaking at 5.5K in late April. Active users increased from 6.9K to 9.3K by early May but then stabilized around 6.8K by the end of June. No revenue data was reported for this game during the quarter.
Cab Simulator Passenger Game from Game Zee saw a steady download rate, starting at 3.2K and peaking at 4.2K in early May before dropping to around 2.6K by the end of June. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at 3.4K and peaking at 4.6K in early June before dropping to 3.4K. No revenue data was available for this game.
