The second quarter of 2022 showed diverse trends for the top medical apps on the Android platform in the United Kingdom. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top five medical apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
NHS App had a fluctuating download trend, starting strong with 68.6K downloads in the first week of April and ending the quarter with 49K downloads in the last week of June. Active users also showed some variability, peaking at 724.8K mid-June before settling at 662.4K by the end of the quarter.
NHS COVID-19 saw a significant drop in downloads early in the quarter, from 21.1K at the end of March to a low of 5.4K in the last week of May. However, downloads spiked to 17.6K in early June. Active users followed a similar trend, decreasing from 276.3K at the start of April to about 130.7K by the end of June.
NHS Scotland Covid Status maintained a relatively stable download rate throughout the quarter, with downloads hovering around the 5K mark. Active users showed a slight decline from 106.9K at the end of March to 92.5K by late June.
Health Passport Worldwide experienced a gradual decline in downloads, starting at 6.5K in late March and ending at 3.4K by the end of June. Active users also decreased over the quarter, from 17.6K to 13.7K.
Lastly, myGP® - Book GP appointments had a notable spike in downloads in mid-June, reaching 19.8K, before returning to around 4.5K by the end of the month. Active users peaked at 26.2K mid-June, then decreased to 14.7K by late June.
