The second quarter of 2022 has seen intriguing trends in the performance of the top 5 MMORPG applications in Europe on a unified platform, encompassing both iOS and Android. Below, we delve into the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics for each app.
Diablo Immortal from Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. launched on June 1, 2022, and experienced significant engagement. Weekly revenue peaked at around $2.5M in the first week of June but saw a gradual decline to approximately $1.3M by the end of the month. Downloads started impressively with over 2.6M in the first week, dropping to 132K by the end of June. Active users followed a similar trend, starting strong at 2.2M in early June and decreasing to 940K by the month's end.
Albion Online, published by Sandbox Interactive GmbH, maintained stable performance throughout Q2. Weekly revenue hovered around $15K-$20K, while downloads showed consistent numbers, ranging from 33K to 48K. Active users remained steady, fluctuating between 75K and 100K, indicating a loyal player base.
League of Angels: Chaos by YOOZOO (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. saw varying trends. Weekly revenue reached a high of approximately $87K in mid-April but dropped to around $38K by early June, before rebounding to $51K at the end of the month. Downloads peaked at 68K in early April but fell to 15K by the end of June. Active users saw a peak of 86K in mid-April, followed by a decline to around 28K by mid-June, before increasing to 48K at the end of the quarter.
MU ORIGIN 3 from FingerTips, released on May 24, 2022, showed promising results. Weekly revenue started at $60K and peaked at $121K by the end of May, then declined to $81K by the end of June. Downloads were highest in the first week with 144K, decreasing to 10K by the end of June. Active users started strong at 119K, peaking at 151K in late May, and then declining to 57K by the end of June.
Finally, Evil Lands: MMO RPG from Rage Quit Games showed steady performance. Weekly revenue consistently hovered around $9K-$13K. Downloads and active users remained stable, with downloads ranging from 11K to 22K and active users between 21K and 36K throughout the quarter.
