In Q2 2022, the top 5 reference apps in the Middle East displayed varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. This data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides insights into how these apps fared in the competitive market.
Google Translate maintained a robust download rate throughout the quarter, with weekly downloads ranging from approximately 97K to 120K. The app saw active users slightly fluctuate, starting at around 10.1M and ending the quarter at about 10.3M.
Ayah - Quran App experienced a significant drop in downloads at the beginning of the quarter, falling from 44K to around 6.5K by the end of June. Despite this, active users remained relatively stable, hovering between 530K and 570K.
Athkar - أذكار saw a steady decline in revenue from late March to mid-June, starting at $3.4K and dropping to approximately $1.2K before a slight recovery to $2.2K by the end of June. Downloads followed a similar pattern, decreasing from 37.6K to 10.9K. Active users showed a slight increase, moving from 310K to around 314K.
Quran Majeed – القران الكريم had a fluctuating revenue, peaking at $4.2K in late April before declining to approximately $1.3K by the end of the quarter. Downloads ranged from 12.6K to 155K, with active users experiencing a slight decrease from 342K to around 283K.
Muslim: Azan, Qibla, Al Quran saw a notable drop in weekly downloads early in the quarter, from 85K to around 11K by the end of June. Revenue varied, peaking at $7.6K in late March and then stabilizing around $3.9K. Active users showed a decreasing trend, starting at 292K and ending at approximately 161K.
