In the second quarter of 2022, the travel and local app category in Saudi Arabia saw significant user engagement and activity. Below, we explore the performance of the top 5 apps in this category, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Published by the Ministry Of Haj & Umrah, Nusuk (Eatmarna Previously) exhibited notable trends in downloads and active users. Weekly downloads peaked at 174K during the week of April 11, followed by a decline to roughly 9.5K by the end of June. The app's weekly active users also showed a similar pattern, starting at 433K at the end of March and peaking at 687K mid-April, before tapering off to around 195K by the end of June.
Live Earth Map 3D saw fluctuating download numbers throughout the quarter. The app had its highest weekly downloads at approximately 36K in the last week of June. Active users also increased from about 24K at the end of March to a notable 59K by the end of June.
Google Earth maintained a relatively stable performance in Q2 2022. Weekly downloads varied slightly, peaking at around 19K in the week of May 23. The weekly active users remained consistently high, starting at 542K and ending the quarter at 564K, with minor fluctuations throughout.
Booking.com: Hotels & Travel experienced a robust quarter with weekly downloads reaching their peak at 35K in the week of April 25. Active users showed a steady increase, starting at 510K at the end of March and reaching 594K by the end of June.
Wego - Flights, Hotels, Travel had a consistent performance in terms of downloads and active users. Weekly downloads saw a steady increase, peaking at 14K by the end of June. Active users also showed a gradual rise from 104K at the end of March to 127K by the end of June.
