During the second quarter of 2022, the top five travel applications in the United Arab Emirates experienced varied performance metrics across weekly downloads and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, offers valuable insights into each app's user engagement and popularity trends.
Careem – rides, food & more saw its weekly downloads fluctuate, starting at 17.6K in late March and peaking at 19K in early May. Active users showed a similar pattern, starting at 136.6K and experiencing a slight dip mid-quarter before stabilizing around 112K by the end of June.
Booking.com: Hotels & Travel experienced a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at 7.3K in late March and reaching 9.8K by the end of June. Active users followed a similar trend, beginning at 212.5K and climbing steadily to 231.6K over the quarter.
Wizz Air - Book Flights demonstrated notable growth in weekly downloads, starting at 2.5K in late March and peaking at 9.7K in mid-June. Active users also rose significantly, from 5.4K in late March to 15.6K by mid-June, marking a robust increase in user engagement.
Uber - Request a ride maintained steady weekly downloads, beginning at 8.1K in late March and stabilizing around 7.6K by the end of June. Active users remained relatively stable throughout the quarter, fluctuating slightly but maintaining a strong base around 243K.
MakeMyTrip Flight, Hotel, Bus showed a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at 10.2K in late March and reaching 15.1K by the end of June. Active users also saw a gradual rise, beginning at 20.6K and peaking at 23.9K towards the end of the quarter.
