In Q3 2022, the top music and podcast apps on the Android platform in Norway experienced diverse trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the leading five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
NRK Radio saw a significant uptick in weekly downloads towards the end of the quarter, peaking at approximately 2.2K in the last week of September. Active users for the app increased steadily, starting from around 5.2K in late June and reaching about 6.2K by the end of September.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts maintained a consistent download rate, with weekly downloads ranging between 1.1K and 1.3K. The app also witnessed a steady active user base, fluctuating around 500K throughout the quarter.
Shazam: Find Music & Concerts experienced a moderate download rate, with weekly downloads peaking at 861 in mid-July. Active users showed a slight decline from approximately 35.6K in late June to around 32.5K by the end of September.
Podme: Premium Podcast Player had notable revenue figures, with weekly revenue peaking at about $16.5K in mid-September. Downloads showed variability, with a peak of 1K in early September.
Radio Norway - online radio exhibited relatively stable trends in both downloads and active users. Downloads fluctuated between 492 and 730 weekly, while active users hovered around 2.4K throughout the quarter. The app’s revenue peaked at $86 in early September.
