In the third quarter of 2022, the top finance applications in Mexico showcased varying trends in downloads and active users. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top 5 finance apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
BBVA México maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between approximately 171K and 243K. Notably, the highest downloads were observed in the week of September 5th, reaching around 243K. The app also saw a stable trend in weekly active users, starting at 9.2M at the beginning of the quarter and ending at approximately 9.4M by the end of September.
Banco Azteca exhibited consistent weekly downloads, ranging from 143K to 173K. The peak was in mid-July with about 173K downloads. Active users showed a slight decline from 4.2M at the end of June to around 4.1M by the end of September.
Spin by OXXO saw a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at 143K and reaching up to 167K by the end of the quarter. The app’s active user base also grew from 426K to approximately 514K over the same period, indicating a positive trend in user engagement.
Mercado Pago: cuenta digital experienced stable download numbers, with weekly figures hovering between 123K and 137K. Active users showed a slight increase, starting at 3.1M and ending at around 3.2M by the end of September, reflecting consistent user retention.
Bienestar Azteca had a notable spike in downloads in mid-July, reaching around 312K. However, downloads tapered off towards the end of the quarter, averaging around 23K in the last week of September. Active user numbers followed a similar trend, starting at 881K and declining to approximately 281K by the end of the quarter.
