State of AI Apps Report 2025 is Live!
In Q3 2022, the top 5 game apps in the United States exhibited diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Roblox from Roblox Corporation showed a fluctuating revenue trend throughout the quarter, starting at around $8.5M at the end of June and peaking at approximately $8.3M by the end of September. Weekly downloads for the game saw a decline from 602K at the beginning of the quarter to around 390K by the end of September. Meanwhile, weekly active users remained relatively stable, starting at 23.4M and ending the quarter at around 25M.
King’s Candy Crush Saga maintained strong weekly revenue, beginning at roughly $10M and ending slightly higher at around $10.1M. However, weekly downloads showed a downward trend, decreasing from 190K to 161K over the quarter. Active users saw a slight drop from 2.7M to around 2.8M by the end of September.
Royal Match by Dream Games experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, starting at $4.4M and peaking at approximately $5.5M by the end of the quarter. Weekly downloads also saw growth, increasing from 98K to 169K. Active users showed an upward trend as well, growing from 366K to about 448K.
Niantic’s Pokémon GO had a mixed quarter in terms of revenue, starting at $4.2M, peaking at around $5.8M in late August, and ending at approximately $4.2M. Weekly downloads were relatively stable, fluctuating between 126K and 173K. Active users ranged from 15.5M to 16.5M, showing minor fluctuations throughout the quarter.
Clash of Clans by Supercell saw varied weekly revenue, starting at $5M, dipping to $2.5M, and then rising back to $4.8M by the end of September. Weekly downloads showed minor fluctuations, starting at 99K and ending at around 97K. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 7.2M and 7.4M throughout the quarter.
