During the fourth quarter of 2022, the top five consumer finance applications on the Android platform in the United Kingdom showed varying performance in terms of downloads and active users. The data, sourced from Sensor Tower, provides an insightful look into the trends for these popular apps.
Monzo - Mobile Banking experienced fluctuations in weekly downloads, starting with approximately 27K in late September and seeing a decline to around 11K by mid-December, before slightly increasing to nearly 15K in the last week of the year. Weekly active users also saw a downward trend, starting at over 1.16M in late September and ending at approximately 1.12M in late December.
Barclays UK had notable peaks and troughs in weekly downloads, reaching a high of about 32K in mid-October and dropping to around 9K by mid-December, with a slight increase to roughly 12K in the last week of December. Weekly active users started at around 1.31M in late September and decreased to about 1.11M by the end of December.
Lloyds Bank Mobile Banking saw a peak in weekly downloads of around 22K in early October, followed by a steady decline to approximately 9K by mid-December, with a slight rise to around 11K in the final week of the year. Weekly active users showed a gradual decrease from about 1.16M in late September to approximately 1.07M by the end of December.
Nationwide Banking App had weekly downloads peaking at nearly 17K in early October, with a consistent decline to around 6K by mid-December, followed by a small increase to about 7K in the last week of December. Weekly active users fluctuated but generally trended upwards, starting at approximately 786K in late September and ending at around 790K in late December.
Halifax Mobile Banking experienced a peak in weekly downloads of about 15K in late September, followed by a gradual decline to around 8K by mid-December, and a small rise to approximately 10K in the final week of the year. Weekly active users showed a similar trend, starting at around 783K in late September and ending at approximately 767K by the end of December.
