The fourth quarter of 2022 saw notable trends among the top communication apps in Turkey. Here’s a detailed look at the performance of WhatsApp Messenger, Snapchat, Telegram, Messenger, and Getcontact.
WhatsApp Messenger demonstrated a consistent download pattern, starting the quarter with around 281K weekly downloads and peaking at 365K in the week of November 28. Active users hovered around the 50M mark, with a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching approximately 50.3M in the last week of December.
Snapchat experienced moderate fluctuations in weekly downloads, ranging from 152K to 194K. The app’s revenue saw significant spikes, particularly in the week of December 19, where it hit $6.3K. Active user numbers grew steadily, ending the quarter at around 16.1M.
Telegram showed an upward trend in revenue, peaking at $17.5K in the final week of December. Downloads also saw a peak in the week of October 24, reaching around 323K. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, with a slight dip in the middle of the quarter but recovering to approximately 8.9M by the end.
Messenger had a steady download rate, maintaining around 100K downloads per week. Revenue saw a peak of $839 in the last week of December. Active users showed a slight decline from 24.6M at the start of the quarter to about 24M by year-end.
Getcontact experienced notable growth in downloads, reaching a high of 105K in the week of December 26. Revenue remained fairly consistent, averaging around $11K weekly. Active users saw an increase, peaking at approximately 558K in the week of November 28.
