The fourth quarter of 2022 saw interesting trends in the travel app market in Mexico. Here’s a closer look at the performance of the top five travel apps: DiDi Rider: Affordable rides, Uber - Request a ride, inDrive. Save on city rides, Viva Aerobus: Fly!, and Airbnb.
DiDi Rider: Affordable rides maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads ranging from 155.8K to 205.2K. Notably, the app saw its highest downloads in the week of December 19, peaking at around 205.2K. The weekly active users fluctuated, starting at 5.4M in late September and dropping to 4.5M by the end of December.
Uber - Request a ride also exhibited robust performance, with weekly downloads ranging from 136.8K to 190.2K. The highest downloads were recorded in the week of December 19, with approximately 190.2K. Active users saw a peak of 5.8M in mid-December, before declining to 4.8M by the end of the quarter.
inDrive. Save on city rides experienced steady growth in weekly downloads, peaking at around 135.9K in the week of December 12. The app’s active users increased from 2.3M in late September to a high of 2.9M by mid-December, before slightly decreasing to 2.4M by the end of the quarter.
Viva Aerobus: Fly! saw a more modest but consistent performance in downloads, with numbers ranging from 35.2K to 50.7K. The app's active users fluctuated between 117K and 141.8K, with the highest activity recorded in late November.
Airbnb showed a varied trend in weekly downloads, peaking at 70.6K in early October and then seeing a resurgence to 51K by the end of December. Active users grew steadily, starting at 345.2K in late September and rising to 490.1K by the end of the year.
