In Q1 2023, the top 5 Maps and Navigation applications on the Android platform in Kenya showcased varying performance trends in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s an in-depth look at how each app fared during this period.
Air Navigation Pro from Air Navigation SA saw fluctuating weekly revenue, peaking at around $38 in the week of January 30. Weekly downloads were highest at the beginning of the quarter with 147 in the week of January 2, but they experienced a noticeable decline thereafter, with some weeks recording zero downloads.
BlackVue by pittasoft had variable weekly revenue, reaching $19 in the week of January 16. Download numbers peaked at 46 in the week of January 23 but showed inconsistency throughout the quarter. Active users saw a high of 33 in the same week, though there were weeks with no active users reported.
Circuit Route Planner from Circuit Routing Limited maintained a steady weekly revenue around $5 to $7. Weekly downloads peaked at 55 in the last week of March, with active users reaching a high of 95 in the same period. The app demonstrated consistent engagement, with active users staying above 69 throughout the quarter.
Gaia GPS: Offroad Hiking Maps by TrailBehind Inc. recorded its highest weekly revenue of around $18 in the first week of January. Weekly downloads were most notable at 188 in the same week. Active users peaked at 316 in the first week but showed a gradual decline, stabilizing around the 200 mark towards the end of the quarter.
Navionics® Boating from Garmin Italy Technologies srl experienced modest weekly revenue, ranging from $3 to $13, with the highest in the week of February 6. Weekly downloads saw an upward trend in March, peaking at 38 in the week of March 20. Active users varied but showed an increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching 62 in the same week.
