In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 sports apps on Android in Nigeria showcased diverse performance trends. Here’s a detailed look at their weekly downloads, active users, and revenue metrics.
Throughout Q1 2023, Sporty.com: Live Scores & News experienced a consistent increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 41.9K in mid-March. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users growing steadily from around 137.5K at the beginning of January to about 157.7K by the end of March.
Football League 2024 saw significant fluctuations in downloads, starting at 13.5K in late December and reaching a peak of 44K in early February. Active users followed a similar trend, rising from 53.6K to a high of 136.7K in mid-March before declining to 98.5K by the end of the quarter.
EA SPORTS FC™ Mobile Soccer maintained a steady performance in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads ranged from 10.7K to 22.1K, while active users remained robust, starting at 205.1K and peaking at 254.5K in late February. The app's revenue saw a notable spike, reaching approximately $2.1K in the last week of February.
Football Live Tv App experienced varied download numbers, with a high of 21.7K in mid-February and a low of 7.6K in late March. Active users saw a significant increase from around 28.2K at the end of December to a peak of 42.6K in mid-February, before stabilizing around 33K towards the end of the quarter.
Real Football had a relatively stable performance in downloads and active users. Weekly downloads fluctuated between 10.9K and 18.4K, while active users ranged from 38.4K to 48.8K. Revenue for the app remained minimal, with occasional small spikes, such as $7 in mid-January.
