In the first quarter of 2023, the top five dating apps on iOS in Australia showed varied performance trends. Here’s a closer look at their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics.
Tinder Dating App: Chat & Date saw its weekly revenue peak at approximately $587K in early January, followed by a gradual decline to about $347K by the end of March. Weekly downloads hovered around 7.8K to 10.1K, with a mild fluctuation throughout the quarter. Active users started at 829K in late December and experienced a slight decline, stabilizing around 774K by the end of March.
Bumble Dating App: Meet & Date maintained a relatively stable revenue, ranging from $151K to $165K weekly. Downloads were consistent, averaging around 6.5K to 8.4K per week. The app's active user base started strong at 229K in January but saw a slight dip, ending the quarter at approximately 199K.
Hinge Dating App: Match & Meet showed a steady revenue trend, starting at $109K and peaking at $125K in mid-February, ending the quarter at around $118K. Weekly downloads varied between 7.8K and 9.9K. Active users fluctuated slightly, peaking at 197K in early January and ending at around 179K.
Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat displayed consistent revenue, with a peak of $83.9K in late February and a low of $72.9K in early March. Downloads ranged from 1.4K to 1.7K weekly. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at 21.1K and ending at 21.9K.
Plenty of Fish Dating App had the lowest revenue among the top five, peaking at $50.6K in late March. Weekly downloads ranged from 2.0K to 2.4K. Active users saw a steady decline from 19.2K in late December to 13.9K by the end of March.
