In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 food and diet tracking apps on iOS in Italy demonstrated varied performance metrics in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here, we break down the trends for each app based on data from Sensor Tower.
Yuka - Food & Cosmetic Scanner saw significant growth in weekly downloads, peaking at 44.2K in the week of February 20. The app's weekly revenue showed steady increases, reaching approximately $1.4K towards the end of February. Weekly active users also increased consistently, starting at 125.9K at the beginning of the quarter and reaching 164.9K by mid-March.
BMI Calculator – Weight Loss had a notable spike in downloads in mid-January, with a high of 29.3K. However, the app experienced a decline in active users from 23.9K in mid-January to 2.2K by the end of March.
YAZIO Calorie Counter & Diet maintained a robust weekly revenue, peaking at $15.1K in the first week of January. The app's downloads were fairly stable, averaging around 5.5K per week. Active users remained strong throughout the quarter, fluctuating between 159.9K and 179.2K.
Calorie Counter by FatSecret had a steady increase in revenue, reaching $1.2K in early March. Downloads were consistent, with a peak of 4.4K in the last week of March. Active users saw a slight increase from 22.7K at the start of the quarter to 30K by the end of February.
MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter experienced a substantial increase in weekly revenue, peaking at $9.6K in late February. Downloads were stable, averaging around 3K per week. The app's active users remained high, starting at 132.4K and reaching a peak of 188.9K in the first week of January.
