In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 interactive story games on iOS in the US showed varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared based on Sensor Tower data.
Episode - Choose Your Story saw its weekly revenue start at around $635K and gradually decline to approximately $337K by the end of March. The app’s weekly downloads experienced a downward trend, beginning at about 125K and ending the quarter at around 48K. Active users also showed a declining pattern, starting at 229K and closing at nearly 141K.
Chapters: Interactive Stories had a relatively stable revenue, starting at $309K and ending at $248K. Downloads, however, decreased from 43K in early January to about 22K by the end of March. Active users showed a slight decline from 139K to around 115K throughout the quarter.
Choices: Stories You Play maintained a steady revenue, with figures fluctuating between $125K and $170K. Weekly downloads varied, starting at 14.8K and decreasing to 7.8K by the end of the quarter. Active users, on the other hand, showed a significant increase, from 121K to 175K.
MeChat - Interactive Stories began the quarter with a weekly revenue of $133K, which tapered off to around $81K by the end of March. Downloads followed a similar trend, decreasing from 41K to approximately 20K. Active users saw a slight increase, starting at 81K and ending at 58K.
My Fantasy: Choose Your Story showed consistent revenue, ranging from $115K to $89K throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads started at 50K, peaking at 66K in early January, and settled at around 42K by the end of March. Active users remained relatively stable, starting at 70K and ending at 64K.
