The first quarter of 2023 saw notable performances from the top 5 navigation and maps apps on iOS in the United Arab Emirates. Here, we break down the weekly downloads, revenue, and active users for each app, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Google Maps maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 11K and 13K. The highest downloads were recorded in the week of March 6 at approximately 13.3K. Active users remained consistent, peaking at around 1.2M in mid-February before slightly declining to 1.15M by the end of March.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic had a steady performance in weekly downloads, varying from 4K to 5.7K, with a peak in the first week of January. Active users showed a moderate increase, starting at around 250K and reaching up to 270K in late February.
Google Earth experienced a gradual increase in weekly downloads, with a peak of approximately 2.7K in the last week of March. Active users saw a steady rise, starting from 8.6K at the beginning of the quarter and reaching around 10.5K by the end.
Qibla Compass (Kaaba Locator) showed a significant spike in downloads in the week of March 20, reaching 3.6K. Weekly revenue remained relatively low, peaking at $21 in the last week of December and March. Active users also saw a notable increase, peaking at 2.1K in mid-March.
Radarbot: Speed Cameras | GPS had a consistent performance in weekly downloads, with numbers ranging from 800 to 1.8K. The highest downloads were recorded in the first week of January. Revenue peaked at $312 in the week of February 27, while active users saw a gradual increase, reaching 2.7K in early March.
