In the first quarter of 2023, the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in the United Arab Emirates demonstrated diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here is an overview of the performance of the leading apps:
Careem – rides, food & more by Careem saw a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting with 19.7K downloads at the end of December and peaking at 21.2K in mid-March before declining to 12.3K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users also varied, beginning at 101K and ending at 81K.
Yango: taxi, food, delivery from YHub ZAF (Pty) Ltd experienced steady growth in weekly revenue, starting at $2 and increasing to $8 by the end of March. Weekly downloads for Yango showed a peak in early March with 11.6K downloads, but saw a decline to 5.1K by the last week of March. The app's weekly active users increased from 11.3K at the end of December to a high of 19.7K in early March before falling to 14.3K at the end of the quarter.
Uber - Request a ride by Uber Technologies, Inc. maintained a relatively steady trend in weekly downloads, starting at 10.2K and ending at 5.7K. Active users for Uber showed stability, beginning at 252K and fluctuating slightly to end at 248K by the end of March.
Careem BIKE: Bike Sharing App by Careem had consistent weekly downloads, ranging from 2.2K to 3.3K throughout the quarter. The app's active users remained relatively stable, starting at 1.8K and ending at 1.5K.
inDrive. Save on city rides from SUOL INNOVATIONS LTD showed a steady trend in weekly downloads, starting at 3K and ending at 2.2K. The app saw a gradual increase in weekly active users, starting at 34.3K and peaking at 38.3K in mid-March before ending at 35.4K.
