In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 science games in the United States showed a variety of trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at each app’s performance, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Plague Inc. from Ndemic Creations saw a notable decrease in weekly downloads, starting at 25.5K in late December and dropping to around 7.7K by the end of March. Weekly revenue also declined, peaking at approximately $52.8K in the last week of December and gradually falling to $20.2K by the end of the quarter. Active users followed a similar trend, decreasing from 36.4K to 19K.
Cell to Singularity: Evolution by Computer Lunch maintained stable performance throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads fluctuated between 4.3K and 7.5K, with a peak of 7.5K in mid-March. Revenue ranged from $5.8K to $9.4K, showing a consistent pattern. Active users remained steady, averaging around 37K to 39K.
Jetpack Joyride from Halfbrick Studios experienced a steady number of weekly downloads, starting at 45.6K and slightly decreasing to around 39.2K by the end of March. Revenue showed some fluctuations, peaking at $7.1K in mid-March. Active users remained high throughout the quarter, averaging around 250K to 290K.
Little Alchemy 2 by Jakub Koziol saw a significant increase in weekly downloads, starting at 13.2K in late December and surging to 83.5K by the end of March. Revenue followed a positive trend, growing from $1.2K to $3.6K. Active users also increased significantly, reaching 160.2K by the end of the quarter.
Cell Expansion Wars from MOBIRIX had a relatively stable performance with weekly downloads between 1.1K and 1.9K. Revenue remained consistent, ranging from $836 to $1.4K. Active users fluctuated slightly, averaging between 2.8K and 3.7K.
