In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 shopping apps in Italy—Vinted: Sell vintage clothes, SHEIN - Shopping Online, Amazon, Subito.it - Vendi di tutto, and Zalando – Online fashion—showed varying trends in downloads and active users. Here’s a detailed look at their performance based on Sensor Tower data.
Vinted: Sell vintage clothes saw a peak in weekly downloads at the beginning of January, reaching approximately 117K, followed by a downward trend, ending the quarter at around 66K. Weekly active users fluctuated but remained robust, peaking at about 1.03M in mid-March.
SHEIN - Shopping Online experienced consistent weekly downloads, averaging around 90K with a peak of approximately 102K in the first week of January. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users increasing from roughly 3.95M at the start of the quarter to about 4.44M by the end of March.
Amazon showed a gradual decline in weekly downloads, starting at around 85K in late December and dropping to approximately 54K by the end of March. However, weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 4.05M throughout the quarter.
Subito.it - Vendi di tutto displayed a significant increase in weekly downloads, peaking at roughly 87K in late February before settling at around 61K by the end of March. Weekly active users saw a steady rise, reaching approximately 1.35M in mid-March.
Zalando – Online fashion had a more fluctuating download trend, starting at about 67K in late December and ending at around 42K by the end of March. Weekly active users decreased from roughly 1.29M at the start of the quarter to about 1.13M by the end of March.
