In the first quarter of 2023, the top 5 shopping apps in Kuwait, including SHEIN - Shopping Online, Xcite Online Shopping, Alibaba.com, السوق المفتوح - OpenSooq, and Sultan – Online Shopping, demonstrated varied trends in weekly downloads and active users. Below is an overview of their performance.
SHEIN - Shopping Online saw a fluctuating trend in weekly downloads, starting with 16.1K at the end of December and peaking at 20.1K in mid-March. The app's weekly active users increased steadily from 155.9K to 182.9K during the quarter, indicating a growing user base.
Xcite Online Shopping experienced a decline in weekly downloads, starting at 11.7K and dropping to 4.5K by the end of March. The app's weekly active users also saw a downward trend from 45.4K to 31.5K, reflecting a decrease in user engagement over the quarter.
Alibaba.com maintained a relatively stable download rate, with numbers ranging from 5.3K to 6.1K. However, there was a noticeable dip to 3.8K in the week of March 20. The app's weekly active users remained consistent, fluctuating around the 70K to 80K mark throughout the quarter.
السوق المفتوح - OpenSooq showed stable weekly downloads, averaging around 5K, with a slight drop to 3.5K in mid-March. Its weekly active users demonstrated a steady performance, hovering around 40K to 42K, indicating consistent user engagement.
Sultan – Online Shopping had a significant spike in downloads in early February, reaching 11.4K, before declining to 2.7K by the end of March. This app did not report active user data, making it challenging to assess user engagement accurately.
