In Q1 2023, the top tools apps in Nigeria, including NordVPN – fast VPN for privacy, Private Internet Access VPN, ExpressVPN: VPN Fast & Secure, Windscribe VPN, and IPVanish: VPN Location Changer, showed varied performance in terms of downloads, revenue, and active users.
NordVPN – fast VPN for privacy from Nord Security experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at about $1.5K in the final week of January. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, with a notable increase to approximately 9.7K in the last week of March. Active users saw a slight decrease from around 83.5K in early January to approximately 79.7K by the end of March.
Private Internet Access VPN saw its highest weekly revenue of approximately $1.8K in the first week of January, with a subsequent decline. Downloads showed a steady rise, reaching around 15.9K by the end of March. The app maintained a stable number of active users, fluctuating around the 100K mark throughout the quarter.
ExpressVPN: VPN Fast & Secure exhibited a peak in weekly revenue at around $1.2K in the last week of February. Downloads were highest in the first week of January, reaching about 10.3K, and active users increased from approximately 32.7K in late December to around 37.5K by the end of March.
Windscribe VPN had a varied revenue trend, peaking at approximately $1.1K in the first week of January. Downloads fluctuated, with a high of around 13.7K early in the quarter and a slight rise to approximately 12.5K in the last week of March. Active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 90K throughout the quarter.
IPVanish: VPN Location Changer saw its highest weekly revenue of about $516 in the first week of January. Downloads peaked in the second week of January at around 7.6K. Active users showed a downward trend, decreasing from approximately 33K in early January to around 27.3K by the end of March.
