During the second quarter of 2023, the top five education apps on the Android platform in the Middle East experienced diverse trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a detailed look at their performance:
Duolingo: Language Lessons saw a consistent rise in its weekly downloads, starting at approximately 24K in late March and peaking at nearly 40K by the end of June. Revenue also showed a general upward trend, with a notable peak in early May at around $24.8K. The app's active users increased steadily throughout the quarter, reaching nearly 280K by the end of June.
Udemy - Online Courses experienced a more fluctuating pattern. Weekly downloads remained relatively stable, fluctuating between 1K and 1.3K. Revenue peaked in late May with around $10.7K, while active users hovered around the 6K mark for most of the quarter.
EWA: Learn English & Spanish displayed a significant increase in weekly downloads, jumping from 3.8K in late March to over 21K by the end of June. Revenue followed a similar trend, peaking at around $6.2K in late June. Active users saw a dramatic rise, reaching approximately 27.8K by the end of the quarter.
Headway: 15-Min Book Summaries showed notable growth in downloads, especially in early June with over 6.3K downloads. Revenue also peaked in early June at around $6.1K. Active users increased significantly, reaching over 20.8K by early June before stabilizing around 18K towards the end of the quarter.
Mondly: Learn 33 Languages experienced moderate growth in both downloads and revenue. Downloads peaked in mid-April with about 8.4K, while revenue reached its highest point in late April at around $4.9K. Active users saw a gradual decline from 15.3K in late March to around 14.9K by the end of June.
