The second quarter of 2023 saw varied performance for the top fast food and fast casual restaurant apps in the United States on the Android platform. Data from Sensor Tower reveals interesting trends in weekly downloads and active users for McDonald's, Dairy Queen® Food & Treats, Starbucks, Taco Bell Fast Food & Delivery, and Subway®.
The McDonald's app experienced consistent weekly downloads, ranging from about 141K to 187K. Active users increased steadily, starting from 3.06M in late March and reaching approximately 3.55M by the end of June.
Dairy Queen® Food & Treats saw a significant spike in downloads in mid-April, peaking at around 276K. However, the weekly download numbers dropped to a range of 24K to 32K through the rest of the quarter. Active users also peaked in mid-April at approximately 276K, but decreased to around 78K by late June.
The Starbucks app maintained a steady download rate throughout Q2, with weekly downloads fluctuating between 50K and 62K. Active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 900K to 980K over the quarter.
Taco Bell Fast Food & Delivery app downloads were consistent, with weekly numbers hovering between 48K and 64K. Active users remained steady, ranging from about 370K to 397K during the quarter.
Subway® experienced a notable increase in downloads in early May, peaking at approximately 76K. Active users showed a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, growing from around 320K in early April to about 368K by the end of June.
