The second quarter of 2023 saw significant activity in the navigation and maps category on the Android platform in Europe. Data from Sensor Tower provides a detailed look at the performance of the top 5 applications in this category.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic exhibited a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting from approximately 170K at the end of March and reaching around 244K by the end of June. The app's weekly active users also grew steadily, peaking at nearly 4.6M in the last week of June.
Yandex Maps and Navigator demonstrated a robust performance with a gradual rise in weekly downloads from about 175K in late March to over 251K by the end of June. Weekly active users showed a similar upward trend, reaching approximately 10.6M in the final week of June.
Yandex Navigator saw its weekly downloads increase from around 148K at the end of March to over 202K by the end of June. The app's weekly active users also climbed steadily, ending the quarter at nearly 3.9M.
Google Earth maintained a stable download rate, with figures hovering around the 100K mark throughout the quarter, peaking at about 139K in mid-June. The app's weekly active users remained consistent, ending the quarter at approximately 1.3M.
GPS, Maps, Voice Navigation from AppStar Studios saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $2.6K in the last week of June. The app’s weekly downloads grew from roughly 70K in late March to about 88K by the end of June, while weekly active users increased from approximately 230K to over 263K during the same period.
