The second quarter of 2023 saw notable trends and performances among the top consumer finance apps in Germany. Below, we dive into the specifics of the top five apps: Sparkasse Ihre mobile Filiale, ING Banking to go, DKB, VR Banking - einfach sicher, and Postbank.
Sparkasse Ihre mobile Filiale had a strong Q2 with weekly downloads ranging from 50K to 68K. The app maintained a high level of weekly active users, peaking at approximately 7.8M by the end of June. There was a consistent engagement trend, indicating its robust user base.
ING Banking to go showed significant activity with weekly downloads reaching up to 71K in mid-April. Although there was a slight decline towards the end of the quarter, weekly active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 1.5M to 1.6M.
DKB experienced a notable surge in weekly downloads, particularly in the last weeks of the quarter, peaking at 87K. The app’s weekly active users also showed a steady increase, reaching over 1M by the end of June.
VR Banking - einfach sicher had consistent weekly downloads, averaging around 30K to 40K. The app's weekly active users saw a gradual rise, culminating at approximately 2.5M at the end of the quarter, suggesting growing user engagement.
Postbank had a varied download trend with a notable spike in early April, reaching approximately 158K downloads. Despite fluctuations, the app maintained a steady base of weekly active users, around 270K to 520K throughout the quarter.
