The second quarter of 2023 saw interesting trends for the top 5 dragon-themed mobile games in Europe, as tracked by Sensor Tower. The analysis includes metrics such as weekly downloads, revenue, and active users for Call of Dragons, Frost & Flame: King of Avalon, Merge Dragons!, Dragonscapes Adventure, and Dragon City - Breed & Battle!.
Call of Dragons from Farlight Games experienced a decline in both weekly downloads and active users throughout the quarter. Downloads dropped from nearly 492K in late March to around 39K by the end of June. Active users also saw a downward trend, starting at approximately 307K and settling at 186K. Revenue, however, showed a peak of around $1M in mid-April before declining to approximately $577K by the end of June.
Frost & Flame: King of Avalon from FunPlus International AG showed a stable weekly revenue, consistently around $600K to $750K, peaking at $749K in the final week of June. Downloads saw a surge towards the end of the quarter, with numbers climbing from about 5K in late March to nearly 11K in mid-June. Active users remained relatively steady, fluctuating between 52K and 70K.
Merge Dragons! by Gram Games saw stable weekly revenue, generally hovering around $325K to $375K, with minor fluctuations. Downloads remained consistent, averaging around 30K per week. Active users also held steady, with numbers around 520K to 570K throughout the quarter.
Dragonscapes Adventure from DianDian Interactive Holding experienced a steady decline in weekly revenue, starting at around $297K and ending at approximately $189K. Downloads saw a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, peaking at nearly 89K in late June. Active users fluctuated but remained around the 350K to 415K range.
Dragon City - Breed & Battle! by Socialpoint showed a stable weekly revenue trend, generally between $93K and $163K. Downloads had a peak of about 93K in mid-April but averaged around 55K to 65K for most of the quarter. Active users remained high, fluctuating between 1.67M and 1.92M.
