The second quarter of 2023 saw notable performances from the top entertainment apps in Latin America. Here's a closer look at the key metrics for HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies, Disney+, Globoplay: Novelas, séries e +, Star+, and TikTok.
HBO Max: Stream TV & Movies experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $1.5M in early June. Weekly downloads fluctuated, with a high of around 761K in the first week of May. Active users showed a slight decline from 8.4M in early April to about 7.7M by the end of June.
For Disney+, weekly revenue remained relatively stable, reaching a peak of around $1.2M by the end of June. Downloads saw a significant rise, hitting approximately 876K in mid-June. Active users grew steadily, reaching nearly 10M by the end of the quarter.
Globoplay: Novelas, séries e + showed consistent weekly revenue, peaking at about $952K in mid-April. Downloads had a moderate increase, with a high of around 224K in early April. Active users fluctuated, ending the quarter at approximately 5.4M.
Star+ saw a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at about $615K in early June. Downloads were highest in early May, reaching approximately 810K. Active users grew significantly, peaking at around 11.1M in early June.
Finally, TikTok continued to dominate with substantial weekly revenue, peaking at around $962K in late May. Downloads were consistent, with a peak of approximately 3.9M in late May. Active users remained stable, averaging around 165M throughout the quarter.
